Retreat 2005

Words can't even express the feelings... and I think most of my grade knows what I'm talking about. Spiritual high or not, it was fun, no doubt. So many memories... this was our last one. I guess next year is the grad trip... too bad we have to leave all the other grades behind, but our grade can experience this again in the future. I just hope that God uses this retreat as a springboard to make our grade more united. The open sharing last night after everyone else had left was good. It was awesome how honest people were. Hopefully this is a trend that can continue.

Thanks to all of you who planned the retreat, and actively participated in making it an awesome experience. Deb and Heidi... you guys are awesome... and the praise team... that was some hot worship... HOT!... Alright... I'm gonna go catch up on two nights of lost sleep...

Peace...

Fallen Angel, Rise Again

Certain angels have fallen, from a pedestal of grace
Not knowing what they were doing, evil they embraced
As wrong as this felt, as wrong as it was
The angel gave into the devil, without so much as a fuss

The world was his playground, no boundaries were set
Nothing had phased this fallen angel, nothing as of yet
Little did this angel know though, what God kept in store
The angel's time in the wake of evil, was to be no more

It was like a sting operation God had set into motion
To take back what was His amidst the commotion
Slowly luring back what was His, using the powers of love
God made it clear, He was the one above

He brought the fallen angel down, crashing to Ground Zero
Head hung stood the angel who had longed to be a hero
Ashamed and disgraced he was presented to his peers
Everything that was happening, confirming his darkest fears

Laying flat on his back, he glared into the distant sky
The only question he kept screaming was "Dear God why?"
The lives he had touched, and all good was for naught
He came a nothing and nobody, the moment he was caught

Now the fallen angel could go no further into the ground
Sobbing amongst the silence emitted the only sound
Then God's voice could be heard booming through the air
"Rise fallen angel, your Father still cares..."

Grad Trip

Hey y'all...

It's me again. So that last post was a huge success. Thanks to all of you for supporting this. 54 comments!!! 54!!!!! Geez... that was impressive. Anyhow, the comments have been given to Mr. Broomer. He's going to look into things and get back to us. Folks... just because of the overwhelming support that this project has received, it does not guarantee that we will be going. We are however, putting up a very strong effort, and I will continue to do so, as long as this support continues. If you guys support this, I'll respect that and keep pushing for it.

This administration is a very positive one, one that has a servant attitude towards us, and one that wants to build something special here. If Mr. Broomer says he's working on it, there's no doubt in my mind that he is. I'm hoping and praying that this will work out in the best possible way for us. Just remember, that whatever does happen, we'll do all that we can to get this dream to become a reality. I'm committed.

OK, so now, if you want to keep reading, I'll throw out some of the things that could possibly happen, and let you guys comment on those, and get your opinions on them to see how you feel. All of this will only move forward if we get approved to do this.

1. We need a fundraising committee.

We need some people who are committed to seeing the fundraising aspect of this thing through. They need to be appointed, not volunteered. We have lots of ideas for fundraising, they'll eventually start coming out, but these people need to sort through these, and logically decide whether something will work or not, and they need to work in coordination with the administration.

2. We need to be examples.

Part of doing this trip is to try and leave an example to the grades below us, that if you're committed and willing to work hard at something, you will definitely reap the benefits of what you sow. Being examples also means in terms of school life. We need to be examples in every aspect. We're a special grade, and we should hold ourselves in that esteem. We also need to make sure that we abide by school rules, and help police those rules with younger students. Hopefully, if all goes as planned, and we get approval, we can implement some of this into our fundraising. We have some creative ideas!

3. We need to remember that we're privileged.

We need to understand that we may get what no other graduating class has ever received. We have strong individuals in every aspect in this grade, and I think that is being brought out in the way this is being worked out. We have people who have different strengths and talents who are presenting ideas, and we're just blessed. We need to use all these blessings to our advantage.

Guys, this will definitely be fun if it goes through, and I'm hoping and praying that it does. Let's take care of what we need to take care of, which is school, and keep this in the back our minds. If we get approved, it all starts THIS JUNE! Get excited... we're almost graduated! I feel it...

Peace...

Attention PCA Grade 11's...

Alright... So this isn't what blogger's for, but I like making things versatile, so here goes.

The grad trip next year... lots of people are sick of going to New York, and want to check out other locations possibly. This topic has come up in various classes with suggestions such as Cuba, Hawaii, Los Angeles, Jamaica, the Dominican, and places such as this. Based on this, I had a conversation with Mr. Broomer, and we agreed that Florida or a Caribbean cruise might be a nicer option. However, it's up to our class to vote on where we go, once we're given the choice. In order to go these luxurious destinations though, we'd have to fundraise, and they cost may be upwards of a $1000. If we go through with this, we'll find a way to subsidize the costs for all of us by fundraising aggressively, throughout the summer and the coming year. There are lots of different ideas for this.

In order to proceed further though in exploring these options, we need the majority to approve. I don't want to send an e-mail, because people have pointed out that you guys won't reply to that. This post will be up here for a week. Send it to as many people as you guys can within our grade, and get people to leave their feedback on their thoughts. I'll make sure all of it gets back to Mr. Broomer. If you guys don't want to sign up for blogger, post anonymously, and then sign your name at the end. If not, e-mail me. If you don't have my e-mail, get it from someone.

I want y'all to let me know so that we can go ahead and plan this out. Teachers that are potentially going with us like the ideas and so does Mr. Broomer. Help us help you!
